David Klein Elected RPI Board President

New officers and directors announced for 2022 RPI Board of Directors


MINNEAPOLIS – Feb. 7, 2022 – Recognition Professionals International (RPI) announced David Klein, senior director talent and organizational development, Spirit Airlines, as the 2022 RPI Board President. The new board began its term in January.  

Klein has over 10 years of experience in human resources and talent development across diverse industries including travel, media and hospitality. He has been a member of RPI for five years and has served four years on the RPI Board including serving as vice president and executive vice president. 

“I am honored to lead RPI into our next phase of growth toward being the premier professional organization for recognition professionals. Recognition done well is a powerful tool that helps employees feel valued, drives productivity and builds engagement. My goal for 2022 is that RPI contributes to the creation of better workplace experiences when organizations apply our standards and members participate in our educational programs and the greater RPI community. Whether attending our monthly webinars, investing in Certified Recognition Professional (CRP) coursework, entering our awards program or coming together with like-minded professionals at our annual Summit – RPI has something to offer everyone. I look forward to a successful and accomplished year,” Klein said.

RPI also elected Karen Gray, CRP, PMP, O.C. Tanner, executive vice president; Ashlee Green, CRP, IP, Verizon, vice president; Donna St. Louis, CRP, Boeing Company, secretary; Lauren Gagne, CRP, C.A. Short Company, treasurer; and Tonda Ferguson, CRP, as past president. 

New directors are Jim Bittner, Centricity; Latecia Pusha, CRP, SHRM-CP, Effingham Health System; Rachel Rump, University of Notre Dame; Mark Smith, One10; Jeannette Stalboerger, CRP, SHRM-CP, Holland America Group; and Amy Stern, BI WORLDWIDE.
