2019 Philanthropy Campaign

YMCA of Metro Chicago

Each year, IMA supports a charity local to the IMA Summit and provides opportunities for membership to engage through fundraising activities and IMA Summit session activities. This year, with membership feedback, we’ve chosen to partner with YMCA of Metro Chicago (The Y).
The Y provides the support and opportunities that empower people and communities to learn, grow and thrive. With a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y nurtures the potential of every youth and teen, improves the nation's health and well-being and provides opportunities to give back and support neighbors.

There will be three components to supporting the Y:

  • Donations of cash, gift cards, and merchandise
  • Interactive session during the IMA Summit

We were thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce our philanthropic cause and the first activity of the fundraising campaign to IGCC members at Flourish during the membership meeting and IMRA members during their conference in Scottsdale, AZ in April.

Since 2003, the YMCA of Metro Chicago has been the recipient of thousands of sets of school supplies from our benefactor, Back2School Illinois. Last year Back2School Illinois provided more than 17,000 sets of school supplies to distribute to low-income children and families served by the YMCA of Metro Chicago.

IGCC and IMRA members wrote over 200 notes of encouragement to be placed inside the school supplies kits to give an extra boost of confidence to the start of the school year for children served throughout the Y association.
We look forward to working with the Y to create a multi-layered experience where members have an opportunity to support all year long.
