Virtua Health Awarded RPI Best Practice Standards® Awards

NEW ORLEANS – July 16, 2024 – Recognition Professionals International (RPI) awarded
Virtua Health four RPI Best Practice Standards® Awards at the IMA Summit Awards program this week during the IMA Summit at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.
The RPI Best Practice Standards Awards honor organizations for implementing the seven
RPI Best Practice Standards. The standards are based on knowledge gained from academic literature, professional conferences, and shared experiences in developing successful recognition programs. They are designed to be useful for creating and evaluating recognition programs in the public and private sectors, large and small organizations, and organizations with single or multiple locations or functions.
Virtua Health achieved four out of the seven RPI Best Practice Standards categories: #1 – Recognition Strategy, #4 – Communication Plan, #5 – Recognition Training, and #6 – Recognition Events & Celebrations.
Virtua Health’s recognition strategy uses formal and informal recognition focused on daily appreciation. The strategy is monitored and well-documented. Tracking includes how colleagues are recognized, the nomination and judging process, project plans for recognition events and improvements, and budget procedures.
Virtua Health’s communication strategy uses education and provides the tools to elevate feedback, increase inclusivity, transparency, and fairness; and engage colleagues through value-driven connections. Using posters, videos, intranet showcases, and various notification methods, Virtua Health sustains purposeful delivery of recognition.
A robust training program increases awareness of recognition programs and how to participate. New hires, all colleagues, and leaders receive tailored learning opportunities with a dedicated timeline for completion.
Virtua Health provides a mix of celebrations throughout the year along with their monthly peer-nominated “We Awards” given out at monthly events. Nominations are judged by diverse leaders from across the organization. Award presentations are personalized to the recipient with relevant and desired team members present. Winners are showcased on communication channels and social media.
