Best Practice Best in Class - Standard 5: Recognition Training
Training is a standard that Scotiabank excels at as well. Innovative, customized, interactive; these are all words that describe Scotiabank’s training initiatives. An Internet platform is used for game based training modules. These modules align with the business needs of various units within the bank. Staff learn how to effectively present products and services to customers. They become more engaged in the Scotia Applause program and increase their peer recognition and points redemption. And they simply have a lot of fun while they accomplish their objectives. The proof is that more than 80% of employees play these games. The web-based training is supplemented by traditional methods as well, such as leader’s guides and tip sheets. These improve all stakeholders’ knowledge of the business and Scotia Applause.
